Muppet Vault: The Man of A Thousand Muppets

Audiences may not be familiar with the name Jerry Nelson, but as a core member of Jim Henson's troupe of Muppeteers, he performed hundreds of assorted characters during a career that spanned six decades. Nelson, who passed away earlier this year, worked on everything from Sesame Streetto The Muppet Show tFraggle Rock, bringing life to Muppets like the Count, Herry Monster, Camilla the chicken, Kermit's nephew Robin, and Gobo Fraggle. This November, Muppet fan website ToughPigs.com celebrates Nelson's life and career with a special screening of Nelson's best and most memorable Muppet work.

The event will include a special sing-along screening of the perennial Henson holiday classic Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas, in which Nelson played the title character. The fun continues with clips and songs from various Muppet episodes, movies, and specials both beloved and obscure, plus plenty of audience participation, with cool giveaways, drink specials and more!

The Muppet Vault is a monthly series presented by the Muppet fan site ToughPigs.com and Secret Formula at Brooklyn’s Union Hall, featuring classic, rare, and unreleased videos from the Muppets, Sesame Street, and the works of Jim Henson.

About ToughPigs.com: ToughPigs.com is a geeky website for "Muppet fans who grew up." The site's mission is to provide a sounding board and forum for biting satire, poignant observations, and general wittiness related to the Muppets, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, and all things connected to Jim Henson's life and legacy. Established in 2001, ToughPigs features interviews with celebrities of the Muppet/Henson world, product reviews, and in-depth commentaries, posted several days per week and aimed toward adult-aged fans of the Muppet franchises.
