"What stands out about Holy Wave is the sonic textures they apply to make their sound pierce through the smoke-filled haze that engulfs most psych bands" -Covert Curiosity
Energy Gown is a psychedelic boogie outfit from the swamps of Chicago. Short form minimalist harmonic haze cut from the same stone as Parson Sound and Bauhaus.
Coffin Ships are one of those bands that would make record stores furious. When they start sounding a lot like one genre, they turn on a dime, launching quickly into another. At the same time, they’re a fan’s dream. The Chicago two-piece’s EP,Basement, is a melting pot of atmospheric indie-rock, sugar-sweet vocals, and a “throw it at the wall and see what sticks” sense of sonics. What’s really intriguing about them, though, is the fact that only two people create such a dense mix of sounds. This band is recommended for fans of Rilo Kiley, Sonic Youth, and Explosions In The Sky, and a must-hear for anyone who ever wondered what all of those bands would sound like crammed together.-The Onion, A.V. Club
Deadlands is a twangy and gazey psychedlic band from Chicago, IL. Some songs are instrumentals, some songs have vocals but they all have atmosphere and intensity.
