21 years and over
Many multi-instrumental “bedroom musicians” write, play and record everything themselves, but few take it so far as DANIEL FRANCIS DOYLE, one of two former drummers from Austin's WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH and a phenom who takes one-man-band to a whole new level. Rather than hiring a group of musicians to join him for time on the road, this rockin’ wunderkind builds, loops and weaves complex, often discordant guitar lines to accompany his cacophonous drum-stomp. Defensive Listening writes "DOYLE'S intense live sets feature almost embarrassingly candid lyrical content combined with a voluminous guitar-scratch and feedback attack… often leaving crowds simultaneously devastated, confused, and excited." STEVE KRAKOW is often seen at the Empty Bottle with his psych-rock outfit PLASTIC CRIMEWAVE SOUND, his ridiculously huge VISION CELESTIAL GUITARKESTRA, with his ambient duo SOLAR FOX or creating uncanny caricatures in our front room, but tonight he graces the stage with his avant-prog experimental trio MOONRISES. They’ll be joined tonight by RYLEY WALER - last fall Plustapes released his Evidence of Things Unseen - an impressive album of solo acoustic finger style guitar tracks that evolve with graceful flow, circular shimmers and visceral bottleneck slides to create songs that take on a life of their own in a live setting.
