SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE is the primary project of BEN CHASNEY, an electric entity not without precedent. CHASNEY returns to our stage this time performing with a full, electric band featuring members of MAGIK MARKERS and MAJOR STARS. The band is touring in support of this year’s excellent full length Ascent, out via Drag City, the rollicking realization of the SIX ORGANS full band experience and the fun and fury of electric SIX ORGANS is evidenced in every molten groove. Queens-based duo BLUES CONTROL return tonight supporting their Drag City debut,Valley Tangents, released earlier this summer. The fellas have issued a handful of releases across several formats and have become known for their celestial, ethereal compositions that can be difficult to pin down but they are so, so good. BRYON COLEY and THURSTON MOORE have championed their “sweet rolling psyche minimalism,” whileArthur has characterized their sound as “brute force monstrosity trudge in the cloudmashing style.” Chicago’s finest purveyor of woozy, weightless Americana SCOTT TUMA is teaming up with ZELIENOPLE’s spaced-out drummer MIKE WEIS for a set of brain-melting droney folk to start things off.
