Trixie Whitley, the daughter of deceased singer-songwriter Chris Whitley (a Beachland favorite) debuts at the Beachland with good looks reminiscent of mid-60s blue-eyed soul icons and a gilded voice that also fits that incomparable era. Check out her melancholy work with uber-producer Daniel Lanois and killer session drummer Brian Blade. It’s the stuff of nights both filled with romantic passion and unspeakable loss. Prior to this, Trixie was a dance student, a drummer, and a Belgian DJ. Not a bad career for someone not even 30 years old. And no shortage of skills, either. Opening we’ll have Clevelanders Istvan Medgyesi and NYC duo Dumpster Hunter.
