NYC trio Pearl and the Beard bring their joyous sound to life through the use of cello, acoustic guitar, glockenspiel, accordion, and some seriously enthusiastic singing. Is it subway platform rock? Is it the perfect soundtrack to a fall bonfire? The Boston Globe writes, “They transcend genre. It’s indie folk music, but it’s also infused with blues hollers, the occasional jazz riff, and a deep passion for the material.” If you love bands like Tilly and The Wall and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, we think you’ll like these guys, too. Hell, even if you’re just looking for happiness and harmonies, look no further. One of the flagship bands of Cleveland-based record label Cellar Door Records, Humble Home, opens with a set of haunting and melodic folk.
