Additional Information

SingSOS! is promoting Songs of the Spectrum, its album of original songs about autism, to the general public as part of Autism Awareness Month, April 2010.

A launch concert for the Songs of the Spectrum album is set for April 7 at the Bitter End in New York City, featuring SingSOS artists, including Dar Williams, Marshall Crenshaw, Christina Courtin, Kelly Flint, Fiona McBain , Ari Hest and more.

The album is already generating excitement in the autism community through an innovative online marketing and distribution system that involves dozens of autism awareness organizations and schools in a grassroots outreach effort. SingSOS/Songs of the Spectrum is a 501c3 nonprofit organization formed to enlist the power of music to spread the word about autism spectrum disorders and the importance of early detection and intensive intervention.

The album, which also features Jackson Browne, Jonatha Brooke, Ari Hest, Teddy Geiger and others, is available at singsos.org as a digital download for a $15 donation or on CD for $20. Buyers choose where the proceeds of their purchase will go from a list of dozens of autism service providers approved by SingSOS. On the album and at the site, there is also a hand-selected set of high-quality information for parents and educators about autism spectrum disorders in free downloadable form, including excerpts from books by leading experts. The album will also soon be available through major online outlets including iTunes and Amazon.
