This exhibition celebrates the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Americans, and features all 83 photographs from Frank's original, ground-breaking book.
Vermeer's Masterpiece The Milkmaid
September 10–November 29, 2009
In celebration of the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's voyage from The Netherlands to New York, Vermeer's famous painting The Milkmaid (Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam) joins all five of the Met's Vermeers and a selection of important works by other Dutch artists of the time. The exhibition provides a rare opportunity to see six of the thirty-six known paintings by the great Delft master in a single setting.
